Aiye Apna Madhya Pradesh Banayen: Central Theme for State Establishment Day
Bhopal — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said various programmes, right from the capital to the Panchayat level, will mark the establishment day of Madhya Pradesh on November 1, he was addressing divisional commissioners and district collectors through videoconferencing at the Mantralaya.
Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni, Principal Secretary General Administration Sudesh Kumar and Principal Secretary to CM, Iqbal Singh Bains were present on the occasion.
Chouhan said the programmes will be focused around ‘Aiye Apna Madhya Pradesh Banayen’ (Come, let’s make our Madhya Pradesh), the central theme of the celebrations this year.
Chouhan said the efforts of the government for making the state developed and prosperous would remain incomplete without participation from the people.
He called on the people to work in tandem with the state government and underlined the need for every citizen to shoulder his responsibility towards the all-round development and progress of the state.
While stressing that the programmes be kept apolitical, Chouhan directed officials to ensure large-scale public participation in the celebrations marking the occasion.
He said apart from ensuring the participation of religious, social and voluntary organisations, members of political parties should also be invited to these programmes.
The Chief Minister said that besides main functions on the day other initiatives should also be planned for Madhya Pradesh Week from November 1 to 7. He said these programmes should heighten public awareness toward plantation, greenery, energy conservation, ensuring cleanliness among other topics.
Citing an example, Chouhan said programmes in Indore could be focused on the eradication Gajar Ghas (Parthenium hysterophorus), and added that free health camps could also be organized in cooperation with voluntary organisations, private doctors and the Red Cross.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni provided the divisional commissioners and district collectors with in-depth details of the instructions sent to them regarding the organization of programmes marking the Madhya Pradesh Establishment Day and Madhya Pradesh Week.
Sahni said the programmes should be held with full dignity and emphasised the need for community and public participation in the developmental activities.
