Wrestlers’ strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh continues for the 15th day today.

Women from Punjab who were going to attend the Maha Panchayat at Jantar Mantar were stopped by the Delhi Police at the Tikri border. After this the women removed the barricades and moved ahead.
Meham (Rohtak) Chaubisi Sarvkhap Panchayat called a meeting of Khap Panchayats of Haryana on Saturday. 65 khap members participated in it. It was here that the decision was taken to go to Jantar Mantar. A committee of 31 members has been formed to plan the movement.
Chief Secretary of Sarvakhap Panchayat Ramphal Rathi said that along with Khaps, there are farmers and social organizations in support of women wrestlers. There are serious allegations against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, yet he has not been arrested. The government should immediately arrest Brij Bhushan, otherwise Khapen will take drastic steps.
On May 4, along with the farmers, Geeta Phogat was detained by the Delhi Police.On May 8, along with the team-force, it has been announced to march to Delhi. United Kisan Morcha (Apolitical) has decided to hold an online meeting with farmers from all over the country and make a strategy to lay siege to Delhi. Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar told that farmers of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh will go to Delhi.

The Delhi Police had a clash with the wrestlers over their dharna. Wrestlers were bringing beds to sleep at Jantar Mantar after it rained a few days back. The Delhi Police stopped him from doing so. After which there was a clash between them. Wrestlers alleged that some Delhi Police personnel were drunk. However, the Delhi Police, while denying the clash, accused the wrestlers of assault. In which it was claimed that Delhi Police personnel were also injured in the fight.
Wrestlers have been on strike since April 23 last month against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan of sexual harassment and are demanding his arrest. Although the Delhi Police has registered a case against him.
Earlier on January 18, the wrestlers staged a protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. However, after the intervention of the Sports Ministry, the wrestlers called off their strike. Then the Sports Ministry had formed a committee to investigate the allegations leveled by the wrestlers. The wrestlers have now raised questions on the committee itself.
