BJP claims 5 while Congress 2 in Bhopal state assembly

The results of all seven seats of Bhopal have been declared, 5 have been won by BJP and 2 by Congress. BJP candidate Krishna Gaur from Govindpura registered the biggest victory by 106335 votes she defeated Congress candidate Ravindra Sahu.

With this, she has been elected MLA from Govindpura seat for the second time. His father-in-law Babulal Gaur has been MLA from this seat eight times. BJP candidate Rameshwar Sharma has won from Huzur by 97910 votes.

With this, Bhopal has got two new faces as MLAs from North and South-West. Atif Akil, son of Congress candidate and former minister Arif Akil, has been elected MLA for the first time from his father’s assembly constituency Bhopal North. On the other hand, BJP has snatched the South-West seat from Congress. BJP candidate Bhagwan Das Sabnani claimed the victory.

From Bhopal North, Congress candidate Atif Akil defeated BJP’s Alok Sharma by 27086 votes. Congress candidate from Central, Arif Masood, defeated BJP’s Dhruvnarayan Singh by 16233 votes.

From Narela, BJP’s Vishwas Sarang defeated Congress’s Manoj Shukla by 24199 votes.

From Berasia seat, Vishnu Khatri of BJP defeated Jayshree Harikiran of Congress by 25397 votes.

BJP candidate Rameshwar Sharma from Huzur has defeated Naresh Gyanchandani of Congress by 97910 votes. He had won last time by 15625 votes. BJP’s Bhagwan Das Sabnani has won from South-West. PC Sharma of Congress has lost the election.

There has been a movement of leaders from the BJP office to CM House since morning. Throughout the day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Narendra Singh Tomar kept taking updates of the counting in the CM House.

State President VD Sharma, State Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached the BJP office first. Then went to CM House and met the Chief Minister. Later BJP leaders went to garland the statues of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

BJP candidate from Govindpura seat, Krishna Gaur described his victory as the resolve of the beloved sisters. Said- A government has been formed with an overwhelming majority. The beloved sisters had taken a pledge to form the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. On victory, BJP candidate from Huzur seat Rameshwar Sharma said – We had expected this huge majority.

BJP candidate from Berasia Assembly seat Vishnu Khatri said after the victory – Heartfelt thanks to the dear sisters.

Bhagwan Das Sabnani, candidate from South West, said- BJP government and organization have received the blessings of the public.

After winning from Bhopal North seat, Atif Akil said- Everyone supported me. Now I will develop the old city even better.

After the defeat from Narela, Congress candidate Manoj Shukla said – The public’s decision is in our minds, we will continue to work on the resolve to serve.

As soon as the counting started at 8 am, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, MP Vivek Tankha discussed with the legal team in the State Congress office.
