Owaisi will soon chant ‘Ram Naam’: VHP reacts to Hyderabad MP’s Ram Mandir remarks
Targeting All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi over his comment on the Babri Masjid, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) stated on Saturday that the Hyderabad MP would soon chant ‘Ram Naam.’
Earlier on Saturday, Owaisi mentioned that the Babri Masjid was “very systematically” taken away from the Muslims. He also remarked that if the mosque had not been demolished in 1992, Muslims wouldn’t be facing the current situation.
Responding to Owaisi while speaking to India Today, VHP’s National spokesperson Vinod Bansal questioned, “In the last 500 years, has anyone from your ancestors visited Ayodhya?”
He also said “Owaisi is a Barrister from the UK, why didn’t he move the court to save the Mosque? He is just doing his politics. This Muslim Party should understand that soon they will become ‘Ram Bhakt’, and will chant ‘Ram Naam’.”
Speaking to reporters in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration, Owaisi said, “Muslims offered namaz in Babri Masjid for 500 years. When Congress’ GB Pant was the CM of Uttar Pradesh, idols were placed inside the masjid. Nair was the collector of Ayodhya at that time. He shut the masjid and started worshipping over there.
He also claimed that Mahatma Gandhi never mentioned anything about Ram Mandir.
The ‘Pran Pratistha’ (consecration ceremony) of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is scheduled to take place on January 22 in a grand manner, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest. Rituals ahead of the ceremony are underway, and preparations for the final event are in full swing
