Atishi may take oath on September 21: LG sends Kejriwal’s resignation to President; Arvind will vacate government house in a week

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Kumar Saxena on Wednesday sent Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation to President Draupadi Murmu for approval. He has also proposed the date of September 21 for the swearing-in of the new Chief Minister Atishi to the President.

Here, Arvind Kejriwal, who has resigned from the post of Chief Minister, will leave his government residence. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said on Wednesday that we told him not to leave the government residence for security reasons, but he did not agree.

A day earlier, on September 17, Atishi was elected Chief Minister in the AAP Legislature Party meeting. After this, Kejriwal submitted his resignation to LG Vinay Saxena in the evening.

Kejriwal has been attacked many times, we are worried – AAP Sanjay Singh said, “Kejriwal is going to leave all his government facilities. We are worried. Kejriwal has been attacked many times. Even when his parents were at home, they were attacked. It is not yet decided where Kejriwal will stay. He has said that he will stay among the public, the place is not decided yet.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bungalow and the office built in its campus were renovated. Rs 52.71 crore were spent on this. This information was revealed in the factual report sent to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena. The report said that Rs 33.49 crore were spent on the bungalow, while Rs 19.22 crore were spent on his camp office. His old bungalow was demolished and a new bungalow was built.

In Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal submitted his resignation from the post of CM to Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena on the evening of 17 September. Atishi and 4 ministers were present with him. After this, Atishi staked claim to form the new government. She also demanded the Lieutenant Governor to fix the date of swearing-in. The Delhi government has called a 2-day assembly session on 26 and 27 September.

On the same day in the morning, in the AAP’s legislative party meeting, Kejriwal proposed to make Atishi the Chief Minister. The MLAs agreed to this. After being elected CM, Atishi said that I have only two tasks till the next elections. First – to protect the people of Delhi from the conspiracy of BJP. Second – to make Kejriwal the CM again.
