Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar got married in 2022. Shibani is Farhan’s second wife. In an interview, she has talked about the trolling she faced after her marriage to Farhan. Shibani said that when she started dating Farhan, people started calling her a gold digger. Also, her marriage to Farhan was called love jihad.
I am not a gold digger: Shibani
In chapter 2 of Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Shibani said, “When I got into a relationship with Farhan, people started calling me a gold digger and our relationship love jihad. What could I do about it? Would I sit and cry that people are saying this about me? I am not a gold digger. The truth is that he (Farhan) is a Muslim and I am a Hindu, we got married and we are happy in our lives. People can say whatever they want but this is our truth.”
Shibani said that she only thinks about a better life without worrying about the negative comments. Shibani said, people make comments about me, who is she? What was she before marrying Farhan? Should I sit after reading these comments and think what have I done in life? I don’t get involved in all these things.
Farhan and Shibani were in a live-in relationship before marriage
Farhan-Shibani got married in Khandala on 19 February 2022. Farhan-Shibani were in a relationship for about 4 years and were living in a live-in relationship. After hiding their relationship from everyone for some time, both of them made their relationship official in the year 2018.
Farhan’s marriage to Shibani is his second marriage. He was first married to hairstylist Adhuna, with whom he has two daughters. Farhan and Adhuna got divorced in 2017.
