Kohli and Pant can play Ranji: Names in Delhi’s probable players list for the first time since 2019

Veteran batsman Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant may play some matches of Ranji Trophy 2024-24. For the first time since 2019, both these players have been included in the list of Delhi probables. While fast bowler Ishant Sharma has not been given a place. On Wednesday, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) released a list of 84 players.

Virat Kohli played his last Ranji match in the 2012-13 season. Rishabh Pant played his last Ranji match in 2015. The current season of Ranji Trophy is starting from October 11. Delhi’s first match will be played against Chhattisgarh, although the venue of this match is not decided yet.

Kohli and Pant will be able to play only a few matches of the current Ranji Trophy, as the team has to play 3 T20 matches against Bangladesh in October. Then there is also a 3-Test series against New Zealand from October 16. Meanwhile, Delhi will also have a Ranji match from October 11.

In such a situation, Virat Kohli can be a part of this match, as he has retired from the T20 format, while Rishabh Pant can be given rest from the T20 series.

Ishant Sharma’s name not included; Saini, Badoni, Rawat and Dhul included Fast bowler Ishant Sharma has not been included in the list of probables. Apart from Kohli and Pant, big players like Navdeep Saini, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat and Yash Dhul were given a chance in this list.
