CM to Gift Rs 43 Crore Projects to Bhopal Today

Major sanitation machinery, amenities for State Capital

Marking the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will on Wednesday inaugurate several projects with a vision to enhance sanitary conditions and environmental safety in the state capital.

The chief minister will also lay foundation stones for several other development projects to commemorate the occasion.

The projects, which involve a cumulative expenditure of Rs. 43.39 crores, will be set in motion at a programme held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre.

Prominent among projects to be initiated on the day include; construction of new garbage transfer stations, distribution of new CNG door-to-door vehicles, purchase and Inauguration of road cleaning equipment,

The new transfer stations have been constructed at three locations with an investment of Rs.17.74 crore. This will improve waste management in the city.

125 CNG vehicles have been purchased at a cost of Rs. 8.75 crore. These will be used for door-to-door waste collection, reducing pollution and improving sanitation.

Six road sweeping machines have been purchased, with one being inaugurated. This will enable automated cleaning of city roads. The cost of the equipment is an approximate 3.9 crores.

Six hook loader machines will be dedicated to public service with an investment of Rs. 4.10 crore. These will enhance efficiency in waste management and transportation.

A rendering plant has been established in Adamapur at a cost of ₹5 crore under the PPP mode. This is a significant step towards environmental protection.

Other development initiatives to be launched on the day include, a plant for plastic waste disposal at Adampur at a cost of Rs. 3.2 crore, a coconut plant promoting the reuse of waste.

An RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) on Wheels unit will also be set in motion to promote waste reuse and recycling.

Two shredder machines and one litter picking machine will be commissioned to enhance automation in cleaning activities.

A public toilet and a cow shelter will also be dedicated to the people at the programme

The projects are a corollary to Chief Minister Yadav’s vision for a cleaner, greener, and smarter Bhopal.
