Objecting to a social media post parodying the Ladli Behna scheme, the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has initiated defamation proceedings against a top Opposition leader.
Indore police registered a criminal case against state Youth Congress chief Mitendra Darshan Singh for sharing an alleged parody of the scheme on social media.
The case was registered under sections of defamation, misrepresentation, and rumor-mongering at the behest of a local BJP leader.
According to the complaint, the parody shared on Twitter (X) by the YC leader tarnishes the image of the chief minister.
