Bhopal

Upset over the continuing neglect of directives, Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan on Monday warned of strict action against those health department officials failing to fulfil their duties.

The top bureaucrat at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) urged health department officials to heed directives and exercise due diligence in the discharge of their duties.

Narayan underlined the need for officials to work on the field and said that he would soon take an Assistant Health Officer (AHO) on a tour to bring him face to face with the prevailing unsanitary conditions in the area under his charge. The Municipal Commissioner was inspecting cleanliness work during an early morning tour of the city.

He said that no Garbage Vulnerable (GV) points should be allowed to come up and cautioned officials against giving corporation-issued mobile SIM cards to unauthorised persons.

Narayan instructed officials to immediately remove a pile of garbage behind a temple at Char Imli and asked municipal employees to seek help from the Lake Conservation Cell to improve the cleanliness of Pond No. 5 and its surroundings.
