Crackdown on illegal refilling, 46 LPG cylinders confiscated

District Food and Civil Supplies Department carried out raids at six locations, including a gas refilling centre in Ashoka Garden on Wednesday evening.
The raids resulted in the seizure of 46 domestic and commercial gas cylinders. Electronic weighing scales and gas refilling equipment.
District Supply Controller Meena Malakar said that the raid was conducted with the assistance of Assistant Supply Officer Ashok Satyarthi, Junior Supply Officer Pushpraj Patil, Safdar Khan, Mubina Kadri, Huma Huzur, and Mohit Meghwanshi.
The raids took place at the following locations: Rishi Enterprises and Preeti Home Appliances, and Asha Gas Stove Repairing Center at Ashoka Garden.
New Maa Ansuiya Gas Stove, Gayatri Gas Collection, both at Bagh Sevaniya and Vasudev Home Appliances, Lalghati.
Besides acting on contravention to applicable laws and standards, illegal refilling of the highly inflammable LPG cylinders poses a huge fire safety risk to nearby residents and establishments.
