Taxpayers Show Enthusiasm at National Lok Adalat
BMC is hoping to collect Rs 600 Crore in property and other taxes this year

Property owners in the state capital thronged National Lok Adalat camps on Saturday, making the most of surcharge waivers on property tax and water charges. By evening, over 13,700 cases had been settled, with collections exceeding Rs 18 crore.
Acting under Mayor Malti Rai’s directives and Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan’s orders, the revenue team devised an efficient plan. Officials ensured no taxpayer left without clearing dues. Senior officers inspected ward offices and camps, issuing necessary instructions to streamline proceedings.
The rush began early at ward and zone offices, lasting till late evening. By press time, taxpayers had resolved thousands of cases, contributing Rs 18.02 crore to the municipal coffers.
