Telangana Action Committee Plans Indefinite Bandh
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) for Telangana, which comprises of political parties, employees, students and different Telangana organizations, have planned to call an indefinite bandh in the region if the Centre fails to come out with a clear statement on statehood to the region by December 28.
“There is no bandh tomorrow. We appeal to the people to hold peaceful protests as they deem fit,’’ the JAC leaders clarified.
At the first meeting of JAC held on Friday, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is understood to have moved a proposal for fixing a deadline of bifurcation of the state.
Besides, the JAC plans to send a draft proposal to the Prime Minister with clear cut words on Telangana statehood.
JAC leaders, however, have yet not arrived on a consensus on the issue. A final decision is likely in the next two days after consultations with the constituent parties of the Committee.
