Telangana Shutdowns Cripples Life on Second Day
A shutdown called by Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) to protest the police cane-charge on students in Osmania University continues to cripple normal life in Telangana region on second day on Thursday, said reports.
Bus services have been suspended by the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) in districts of the region like Nalgonda, Medak and Karimnagar, reports said.
However, bus services were partially resumed in Hyderabad, providing some relief to commuters following their suspension yesterday, said reports.

Reports said that schools, colleges, shops and business establishments in the region remained closed on second consecutive day.
The JAC called for the shutdown to protest cane-charge and firing of teargas shells on students in Osmania University, the nerve-centre of the statehood agitation.
In yesterday violence in the campus, nearly fifty students and over a dozen policemen, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), were wounded.
The JAC, however, exempted a religious congregation taking place at Madaram in Telangana from the shutdown.
Accordingly, the APSRTC was operating bus services to Medaram for the convenience of devotees.
