JuD Renews Threat on Kashmir, Says Free it or Face Jihad

When India and Pakistan are reading the schedule and agenda for foreign secretary level talks, Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT’s) frontal organization Jamat-ud-Dawa has renewed its threat on Kashmir, saying free Kashmir or face Jihad, said media reports.

After months of lying low, the JuD pledged to seize Kashmir by force and threatened ‘rivers of blood’ in India, said reports.

JuD chief Hafiz Saeed was quoted as saying in the public meet, “We are not against composite dialogues. I ask Chidambaram to first come to Lahore before going to Islamabad and hold talks with me. I will tell him a solid solution to the problems between India and Pakistan.

“There is only one solution to all the problems – liberate Indian-held Kashmir. Otherwise the option of ‘jehad’ (holy war) is open for us.”

It may be mentioned that the meeting was the first major public event organised by the JuD since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

It was also the first major gathering of radical and militant groups to be held in PoK in several years to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is observed across Pakistan every year on February 5.
