Seven Children Killed, 20 Injured in Attack at Kindergarten in China

In an attack at a kindergarten in northern China’s Shaanxi province, nearly seven young children were killed and 20 others wounded, said media reports citing China’s state media.

Talking to the government’s Xinhua news agency, Liu Xiaoming, a local publicity official, said that the dead children were ‘hacked to death’ in the early morning attack at the kindergarten in Nanzheng county near Shaanxi’s Hanzhong city, reports said.

Without elaborating, the agency said that as many as 20 people were injured in the attack, reports said.

“The injured have been rushed to hospital,” Liu was quoted as saying.

The attack is the latest of several similar incidents at Chinese primary schools and kindergartens, including three on consecutive days in late April.
