Cong in Favour of Hanging Afzal Guru: Digvijay Singh

Though the Centre dithers on hanging of parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, Congress has made it clear that it is in favour of this move at an early date, said media reports.

“If the Supreme Court convicted Afzal Guru in the Parliament attack case giving him death sentence, there should be no problem in hanging him,” party general secretary Digvijay Singh was quoted as saying.

However, earlier party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said that the matter should be decided by the concerned authorities within the government.
