German Bakery Blast Suspect Sent to 14-day Judicial Custody
Prime suspect in Pune German Bakery blast case Abdul Samad Bhatkal has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody in connection with a 2009 illegal arms seizure case, said media reports.
In the court, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), which nabbed Samad, didn’t seek his custody but asked for his judicial custody, reports said.
Though Samad was not named in Pune blast case by ATS, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had said soon after his arrest that he was a prime suspect in the attack.
ATS arrested Samad from Mangalore on May 24 for allegedly supplying fire arms to three other arrested accused last year.
