Prasar Bharti spent 305 crore on the broadcasting of Common Wealth Games
Three hundred five crore has been spent in the broadcast of the Commonwealth Games by The Prasar Bharti including outsourcing of production and coverage facilities and hosting of website for the broadcaster.
Till November 12 out of the allocated budget of Rs 366 crore an expenditure of Rs 211.11 crore has been incurred by Prasar Bharti, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni informed the Rajya Sabha today.
AIR of Rs 2.67 crore and Rs 15 crore by DD was also spent to perform the role as right holding broadcaster in India. She informed, in addition to these expenditure incurred by Prasar Bharti, an amount of Rs 75.77 crore was provided to ITPO towards rentals, upgrading of infrastructure and facilities, electricity and water charges for setting up the International Broadcasting Centre and setting up of main press centre at the ITPO.
