Bhopal gas tragedy victims protest against the Dow chemical sponsership
BHOPAL: Organisations of Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims have urged London Olympics 2012 to avoid making Dow Chemicals a sponsor of the event.
The associations have decided to stage protest against the Dow Chemicals’ sponsorship of London Olympics 2012.
Also the Indian Olympic players Sayed Ali, Inam Ur Rahman, BP Govinda, Sayed Jalaludin Rizvi and international hockey player Salim Abbasi have supported the demand.
On Monday Chief of Bhopal Group for Information and Action Rachna Dhingra and former hockey players addressed a press conference and told reporters that the demand is being widely made in international media as well.
Rashida Bi from Bhopal Gas Victims Women’ Stationery Workers’ Association said to associate the company that polluted the environment with Olympics would be against the ethics of Olympics.
Also the Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims have also written to the centre regarding this. But the central government rejected the request.
