Standing committee of Lokpal disappointed the team Anna
GHAZIABAD: On Wednesday team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal expressed unhappiness with the draft report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee examining the Lokpal Bill, contents of which are being speculated in the media.
Kejriwal said the current draft, which is likely to be adopted by the panel today and submitted to Parliament in a day or two, doesn’t meet the expectations.
He said, “I don’t think this Lokpal will have any impact on corruption in this country. In fact, it will dismantle whatever anti-corruption structure we have right now.”
It will further weaken the Central Bureau of Investigation by dividing it into three parts. However, on the issue of launching fresh agitation Kejriwal said they would wait for some more time as “the Standing Committee’s recommendations are not final” and binding and the Parliament can go further on the issue.
