KP won it for Delhi: Dare Devils v/s Deccan Chargers
DELHI: Kevin Pietersen won it for Delhi. He was the only difference between both the teams. At one point of time Delhi was 64 for four in 9.2 overs with requiring more than 10 runs per over.
But Kevin stood firm and played a superb innings of 103 runs in just 64 balls with nine sixes to won the game for Delhi. It was the second ton of the series.
He virtually got no support from other end but only Nayar help him a bit. Nayar made 23 runs in 15 balls. Steyn bowled beautifully and picked 2 wickets for just 19 runs.
Earlier Chargers won the toss and elected to bat. They lost their captain Sangakkara early but Dhawan and Patel played beautifully and took the score to 81 runs in just 9 overs.
After that Shahbaz Nadeem again bowl superbly and pick three wickets for just 16 runs in his four overs. He was very well supported by Morkel who also pick 3 wickets for just 23 runs.
But in the end Deccan Chargers was able to set a competitive total of 157 runs with the help of Chipli’s 25 runs.
Sehwag: We have strengthened our batting, that is why we picked the likes of Taylor, KP and Mahela to allow us to go with the Indian bowlers. Nadeem is a good prospect, we picked him last year and he is reaping benefits this year. Crowds have been good and I thank the fans for all the support to be there for a four o’clock match.
Sangakkara: Back to the drawing board yes, we need to hold on to our catches, we were also 20 runs short,
but KP batted brilliantly. We need to play more smartly, from 100/2 in 12 overs we needed to get going.
Man of the match, Pietersen: This is absolutely amazing, crowds cheering for the teams here. I would love to have more English cricketers playing here, but I am enjoying playing in India. Steyn is a class bowler and it was good playing him, the crowds have been amazing. Yes, this is my best innings in this format, hope to get
