Gems jewellery park to be developed in Indore : CM

Bhopal : Diamonds of Madhya Pradesh are now glittering all over the world. We have invited industrialists to invest in this sector in Madhya Pradesh. We will develop Gems Jewellery Park at Indore where world-class infrastructure will be made available. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said on Friday. He was addressing an exhibition of jewellery “Courageous Spirit” made from diamonds found in Chhatarpur districts at Mumbai today.

Shri Chouhan said that It is noteworthy that diamonds are being explored in Bunder in Bakswaha development block of Madhya Pradesh by Rio Tinto Explorations India Private Limited. The diamond jewellery has been designed by Sushri Reena Ahluwaliya of Madhya Pradesh. The jewellery has been dedicated to state’s women power.

Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as an important investment destination due to facilities being extended to investors. He said that besides being investment-friendly, Madhya Pradesh is also island of peace. He informed that the State Government’s priority is also to make maximum jobs available to local people through industries. Shri Chouhan said that 70 percent artisans engaged in the exploration work being done by Rio Tinto in the state are from Madhya Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is now progressing rapidly. Economic growth rate of 12 percent and agriculture growth rate of 18 percent prove this point that the state has accelerated pace of its development.

Additional Chief Secretary Shri P.K. Dash threw light on potential of diamond cutting and polishing as well jewellery sector in the state. Backward Classes and Minorities Development Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi, Rio Tinto India Managing Director Shri Nick Senpati, Rio Tinto Diamonds Managing Director Shri Brooks Fox and large number of jewelers were present on the occasion.
