State Govt. to bear 50 percent expenses on Nankana Saheb Yatra
Bhopal: The 544th Prakashotsav was held at Chief Minister’s residence here today. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that Anand Karaj Yojna will be launched for marriage of Sikh girls. The State Government will bear 50 percent travel expenses on Nankana Saheb Yatra. Pilgrimage of Golden Temple is already included in Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh carried Guru Granth Saheb on their heads as the Holy Boom arrived at the CM’s residents and placed it on palanquin. Shri Chouhan and his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh took the palanquin on their shoulders upto Durbar. Shri Chouhan gave respectful adieu to Guru Granth Saheb on the programme’s conclusion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings are still relevant. He said that Beti Bachao Abhiyan is an effort to disseminate Guru Ji’s message. Some people are discriminating between son and daughter. This practice will have to be eradicated. He urged Sikh community to contribute in Madhya Pradesh’s development.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Sikh is a hard-working community who stand against injustice first. This brave community remains ready to make great sacrifices for safeguarding religion and country. A Sikh contributes in development of the area wherever he lives. Shri Chouhan said that he will always honour the turban offered to him by the community.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there may be different ways to worship God. But the God is one and same. All discords will end in the world if people realise this fact.
Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee President Shri Gyani Dilip Singh Ji congratulated programme’s organisers. He said that Chief Minister is giving respect to all the religions equally and serving the state. He said that he has performed Ardas (prayer) wishing that the Chief Minister goes to serve people in the same way.
At the outset, students of Vidya Kendra performed Kirtan. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan felicitated prominent personalities of Sikh community. Chief Granthi of Guru Dwara Saheb, Hamidia Road Shri Gurbhej Singh delivered a lecture on Guraj Nanak Ji’s preaching. Indore Gurdwara’s Chief Granthi Ji performed Shabad Kirtan. The Sikh community honoured Shri Chouhan and his wife with mementoes.
Forest Minister Shri Sartaj Singh, representatives of various religions, Chairpersons of various corporations and boards, MLAs and large number of community members were present on the occasion.
