Telemedicine Scheme launched in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: Principal Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Praveer Krishna launched Telemedicine Scheme here today. Centre of scheme at AIIMS, Bhopal was inaugurated. Besides, “Video-conferencing”, “Mobile Medicine” facilities will also be available in the state. Apart from state’s 3 medical colleges at Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur, district hospitals of Sidhi, Shahdol, Shajapur, Betul, Khargone, Mandsaur, Mandla, Balaghat, Jhabua and Sheopur Kalan have been linked with Telemedicine facility. Later, other districts will also be linked with it.
Shri Praveer Krishna said that doctors in districts will be able to consult medical experts through Telemedicine facility about effective treatment of serious patients. At present, they can consult medical experts of Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
Besides, mobile medicine facility is also being provided in the state. Through it, patients can consult doctors over telephone and have a prescription for their treatment. Patients will be able to get free medicine by showing doctor’s prescription’s SMS on their mobile phone. Commissioner Health Shri Pankaj Agrawal, State Director of National Rural Health Mission Smt. M. Gita, Director Health Shri Sanjay Goyal, officers of AIIMS and concerning officers were present on the occasion.
Principal Secretary inspects Kolar dispensary: Principal Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Praveer Krishna inspected newly constructed building of community health centre at Kolar and took stock of facilities there. Shri Praveer Krishna directed to ensure proper sanitation, parking and maintenance arrangements at the hospital. He also directed to increase number of beds in maternity ward from 30 to 50. Shri Praveer Krishna said that a sign board with information of facilities given by state government and Janani Suraksha 108 call centre should be installed outside maternity ward. He also instructed in-charges of district hospitals to ensure arrangements as per Mamta, Astha and Kayakalp Abhiyan. He also directed to appoint 2 medical officers at Kolar dispensary at the earliest. It is noteworthy that building of Kolar community health centre has been constructed recently at a cost of Rs. 464.97 lakh. During August, 4,628 got treated here and 65 deliveries were registered.
