Over 47 thousand banners, posters and hoardings removed during 5 days

Bhopal: Model code of conduct is being strictly enforced in Madhya Pradesh to ensure free and fair Lok Sabha election. On the fifth day after announcement for Lok Sabha elections, process was continued by election staff to remove posters, banners, wall paintings etc. in cities and towns of the state. Under Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act, 47 thousand 505 wall paintings, posters, banners etc have been removed from public and private properties. As many as 42 thousand 573 posters, banners and wall paintings have been removed from public properties and 4932 publicity material from private properties.

So far, 12 thousand 14 wall writings, 14 thousand 401 posters, 9 thousand 501 banners and 6 thousand 657 other materials have been removed from public properties. During the action, 666 cases have also been registered. Similarly, 2240 wall writings, 1499 posters, 1291 banners and 4932 other materials have been removed from public properties after registering 1152 cases.

As many as 2 cases of misuse of vehicles have come to the fore in districts in which 3 FIRs have been registered. Similarly, 3 cases have been registered for enticing voters through cash or kind. Six FIRs have been registered in 5 other cases.

FIRs for violation of model code of conduct were registered by Madhav Nagar police station, Mahakal, Dewas Gate and Nilganga and against BJP workers by Desai Nagar police station on the complaint of Manish-Kalu.
