Bhopal: Like agriculture, Madhya Pradesh should also create history in education sector. This was stated by Union HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Irani while reviewing activities of Higher and Technical Education departments at Mantralaya here today. Smt. Irani said that Central government will make every possible effort to make Madhya Pradesh an education hub.
Smt. Irani directed to chalk out a policy for studies of North-eastern students in Madhya Pradesh. On this, Higher Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta said that this policy will be formulated in the current session itself. Smt. Irani said that framing of online testing scheme is being considered to bring about transparency in exams. She said that teachers should also be evaluated from time to time. The Union HRD Minister urged to give information about the academics who are unknown even after doing remarkable work in education sector.
Smt. Irani said that training in agro-based food processing and other industries should also be considered in technical education institutions. She said that women study centres in universities should be strengthened. Smt. Irani said that Buddhist University established in the state should invite students from SAARC countries for study. She said that state’s good works will be replicated throughout the country. Tie-up with Harvard and other prominent universities will be made for qualitative improvement in education.
Higher Education Minister Shri Gupta said that HRD Minister’s positive thinking will benefit the state. He said that suggestions put forth by the Union HRD Minister will be implemented.
Principal Secretary Technical Education Shri Sanjay Singh and Principal Secretary Higher Education Shri J.N. Kansotiya gave information about departmental schemes. Minister of State for Higher Education Shri Deepak Joshi, Additional Secretary HRD Smt. Amita Sharma and other officers were present on the occasion.
