Power supply must be smooth and effective in any case: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is resolve of the state government that power should be supplied for agriculture for 10 hours and 24-hours to domestic consumers without interruption. He has directed that power supply must be smooth and effective in any case. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing activities of Energy Department here today. Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa were also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that advance planning should be made for power supply. Management in Power Distribution Companies should be made more effective. It was informed at the meeting that power supply has been affected due to less rainfall during last few days. Power supply will be restored to the full in a week. Due to scanty rainfall, power demand has risen unprecedentedly upto 7 thousand 700 MW. This has created a little disruption in power supply. Power supply of 8 thousand MW will be resumed in the state in next 5 days. Principal Secretary to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bais and Principal Secretary Energy Shri Mohammad Sulaiman were also present on the occasion.
