Demand and importance of technical education to rise in state
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that as a result of efforts being made in Madhya Pradesh, industrialists of the country and abroad have attracted towards investment in the state. This will lead to rise in technical education’s demand and importance and create new job opportunities for youths. Shri Chouhan was addressing engineering education conclave here today.
State government is endeavouring to solve problems of all sections of society. Apart from making smart global cities, problems of slum dwellers have also been contemplated and solved. Maximum welfare schemes for all sections of society are being implemented in the state. Efforts to increase employment opportunities have been made at all levels. State government’s one-point wish is to increase human resources and promote investment. Mukhyamantri Rin Guarantee Yojana has been implemented for higher education loans. For making available skilled labour to local industries as per their requirements, 66 new trades have been introduced in ITIs. The state government is reimbursing fees to SC, ST students studying in engineering and medical colleges. Engineers have been motivated for self-employment by implementing Mukhyamantri Contractor Yojana. As many as 500 engineers have been benefited in the first phase of the scheme. He said that demand of technical education on increase in employment opportunities will rise only when teaching is qualitative. He said that resourceful institution is necessary for imparting quality education. He said that state and private sector can make necessary arrangements through mutual discussions with practical viewpoint.
President of Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Shri Ramesh Agrawal while informing about the conclave suggested to accord status of service industry to technical education institutions. President of Engineering College Association Shri Sunil Bansal informed that there are 600 technical education institutions in the state giving direct employment to 70 to 80 thousand people and indirect employment to 2 to 2.50 lakh people. He informed that in Income Tax Act’s provisions, educational institutions have been described as non-profit institutions. Director Technical Education Shri Ashish Dongare was also present on the occasion.
