Public servants can bring about a major change: CM
Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the public servants can bring about major change with their administrative skills, talent and innovation. He said that development of Madhya Pradesh is being referred to as example in the country. It is the result of hard work of public servants. He observed these views while addressing Civil Service Day function at Samanvay Bhavan here today.
Shri Chouhan said that public service is more than a government job. This is a mission. He said that public servants with their passion, talent and administrative efficiency can do wonders. Citing example of Kanyadan Yojana, Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act, Ladli Laxmi initiatives, he said that the ideas for public good can be realised in the larger public interest by committed and responsive public servants . He said that Madhya Pradesh has gained recognition across the nation because of the administrative innovative practices.
The Chief Minister urged the public servants to have a deep sense of responsibility towards the people and deal with them with greater amount of sensitivity. Delaying decision in matters of public interest is akin to committing a crime. Decisions should be taken with noble intentions. Harnessing talent in the public interest is a public service of higher degree. He urged members of the public services to work with a goal of making history while setting up new parameters of growth. He said that the state’s new insurance scheme for farmers would be discussed with experts at a workshop to be held on 15 and 16 June .
Minister of State for General Administration Shri Lal Singh Arya observed that the significant contribution by the public servants helped once a BIMARU state to become the fastest progressing state.

Director General of Police Shri Surendra Sinh, Director General of Noronha Academy of Administration Shri Indranil Shankar Dani, Accountant General Shri Deepak Kapoor, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Anil Oberoi and representatives of state and Central Services and departments were present.
