State government committed to promoting Hindi: CM
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that speaking in mother tongue is a matter of pride for everyone. Hindi is our mother tongue and official language. The state government is committed to promoting it. He urged common people for maximum use of Hindi.
The Chief Minister was addressing people in connection with 10th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan at New Market here today. He said that India is the biggest consumer market in the world where most of people know Hindi. People in other countries are also attracted towards Hindi and learning it. It is a matter of pride that 10th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan will be held at Bhopal from September 10 to 12. It would be an appropriate occasion to launch a mass campaign to promote Hindi.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, film actor Shri Amitabh Bachchan and Hindi lovers from country and abroad will participate in the Sammelan to be held in collaboration with Ministry of External Affairs. He said that we do not oppose any language but seek to promote Hindi along with other languages. For this, a mass campaign will be launched in Madhya Pradesh.. Hindi Vishwavidyalaya has been opened in the state to promote Hindi through which education in Hindi medium can be pursued in medical and engineering courses.
The Chief Minister urged businessmen to display signboards and signages in Hindi. They should also make maximum use of Hindi in their routine work. He said that one can express his views in proper way through mother tongue.
Higher Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta said that Madhya Pradesh government is pioneer in welfare of the poor. He also urged people for maximum use of Hindi. MP Shri Alok Sanjar, Mayor Shri Alok Sharma, MLAs Shri Surendranath Singh and Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Bhopal Development Authority’s Chairman Shri Om Yadav, Chairman of Municipal Corporation Shri Surjeet Singh Chouhan, State BJP Vice President Shri Vijesh Lunawat, other public representatives and citizens were present.
