Gail officers says, Cooperation sought for promoting CNG
Bhopal. Senior officers of Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) met Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan under leadership of CMD Shri B.C. Tripathi and held discussions regarding gas pipeline, CNG and LPG supply in the state at Mantralaya here today.
The Chief Minister urged to set up maximum number of CNG filling stations to promote its use in future. Seeking cooperation of GAIL, he said that efforts will be made to make public transport CNG-based in phases. He said that a proposal for polymer park near Morena has been sent to the Central government. He urged GAIL for necessary measures to give benefit of gas pipeline in eastern Madhya Pradesh.
Shri Tripathi also informed about proposal for supply of liquid CNG in Bhopal. It is noteworthy that GAIL is a company with Rs. 4,500 crore turnover and is operating various schemes in 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh. India’s biggest LPG production centre of 6 lakh 50 thousand tonne capacity is situated in Madhya Pradesh. Asia’s biggest gas processing plant is also in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary Industries Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary to CM Shri S.K. Mishra, Secretary to CM Shri Hari Rajan Rao and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
