Madhya Pradesh a state with immense possibilities: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is a fast growing state. All of us have to make this state with immense possibilities of development the best state in the world. He urged people to contribute their mite in it with passion and commitment. Shri Chouhan addressed Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day function at Lal Parade Ground here today. Home Minister Shri Babulal Gaur was also present on the occasion.

On the occasion of state’s 6oth foundation day, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude towards all former Chief Ministers, political leaders, bureaucrats, employees, industrialists, traders, businessmen and common people whose hard work and commitment has made Madhya Pradesh fastest growing state in the country. He informed that state’s growth rate is highest in the country for last 2 consecutive years. Growth rate has been over 10 percent during last 7 years against the national average of 4.50 percent. He said that despite climate change, vagaries of weather and natural calamities during last 2-3 years, Madhya Pradesh has achieved highest agriculture growth rate in the world during last 4 years. He said that the state is passing through crisis of drought. Maximum assistance and relief are being given to farmers. Farmers who have lost one year, will not be allowed to lose lives. They will be given relief as well crop insurance amount. Recovery of loans has been suspended. Interest is also being paid by the state government. Farmers will be provided loans at zero percent interest rate for next year also. The government will also help for marriages of their daughters. He said that efforts are being made to change crop pattern, crop cycle, decrease pressure of population on agriculture and increase production of fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants to enhance farmers income. Madhya Pradesh has taken resolve also to be pioneer in the country in efforts to give a new direction to agriculture.

The Chief Minister said that the state is progressing rapidly in the direction of Make in Madhya Pradesh on the lines of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Make in India Campaign. Reliance Group is going to invest Rs. 46 thousand crore in the state. Companies like TCS and Infosys are also investing in the state. Global level plants are being set up. State is also becoming education hub. He said that once Madhya Pradesh was known as a sick state. There were more power shut downs than power supply. Now, power generation in the state has increased from 2900 MW to 15000 MW and area under irrigation from 7.50 lakh hectares to 36 lakh hectares. Narmada-Kshipra Link Project has been completed. Efforts are on to link Ken river with Betwa. Free medicines are being supplies and free pathological tests conducted in government hospitals. Dial 100 Service has been launched to further improve law and order situation. On being called, the first response vehicle will reach incident spot in 5 minutes in urban areas and 30 minutes in rural areas.

He said that there are immense natural, historic and human resources are available in the state. There is no lack of talent in our youths. The government is committed for their progress. Women have been given 33 percent reservation in government jobs. Investments are being invited to generate new job opportunities. Current year is being observed as Tourism Year to tap maximum tourism potential in the state. Government is extending capital, technology and marketing facilities to youths to set up industries. He said that state’s Foundation Day is symbol of hard work and contribution of every citizen of the state and should be celebrated with joy and enthusiasm.

Minister of State for Culture Shri Surendra Patwa greeted people on Foundation Day. He gave details about programmes marking the occasion. Shri Rajesh Roshan presented ‘The Roshans’. Sushri Maitreeye Pahadi ‘Ath Hindi Katha’ in which 350 artistes depicted journey of Hindi is various eras. After the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also felicitated Sushri Maitreeye Pahadi.
