India to be worlds biggest economy: CM
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that India would become world’s largest economy by year 2050. He said that efforts have been started to strengthen economy under leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. India is taking rapid strides with implementation of novel programmes like Make in India, Digital India and Start-up. Shri Chouhan was delivering a lecture on Inclusive Development In Developmental Context at Institute of South Asian Studies at Singapore today.
Shri Chouhan said that indecisiveness has ended in India now. Under leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, enthusiastic atmosphere is prevailing in every sector. Decision-making process has been accelerated.
Power-surplus Madhya Pradesh
Referring to fast growth of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Chouhan said that simultaneous development works in all sectors are being undertaken in the state at rapid pace. All villages have been inter-connected. This has accelerated pace of economy. Today, there is fulsome availability of power. A decade ago, only 2900 MW power was available, which has been increased to 16500 MW now. Madhya Pradesh is now capable of providing electricity to other states.
Shri Chouhan said that in view of power requirement in future and environmental degradation, Madhya Pradesh is paying attention to greater investments in green energy. Country’s largest solar power plant of 135 MW is situated in Madhya Pradesh and world’s largest 750 MW solar power plant is also being established in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. Possibilities in investment in renewable energy are being translated into reality.
Highest agriculture growth rate in world
Referring to unprecedented increase in agriculture production, Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh’s agriculture growth rate is highest in the world. Revolutionary improvement has been made in irrigation sector. As per wish of the Prime Minister, a programme has been chalked out to utilize every drop of water for agriculture. Further improvements will be brought by Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. There is no shortage of water for industries. Shri Chouhan said that more attention is now being paid to food processing in efforts for agriculture to industries.
