Candle Marches to be take out on Evening of August 14
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the progammes under the ‘Yad Karo Kurbani’ series be focused on raising patriotic feeling in masses. The programmes will be organised with enthusiasm, gaity and at the grand scale. Youngsters’ participation be ensured and elderly people should be invited in the programmes with respect. Shri Chouhan was reviewing preparations for programmes to be held under ‘Yad Karo Kurbani’ series at Mantralaya today.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that people’s active and effective participation be ensured in ‘Yad Karo Kurbani’ programmes. Programmes should not be mere formality. The programmes be held at gram panchayat, towns, cities level along with district headquarters. He issued instructions to organise candle march across the state on August 14, on the eve of the Independence Day.
Shri Chouhan said that the Independence had been obtained after a long struggle and sacrifice. Programmes focusing on freedom struggle, sacrifice, intellectual, literary and cultural programmes based on the life and struggle of freedom fighters be organised in schools and colleges. He said special events organised at the places associated with great freedom fighters. Public rallies be held. Cabinet members will also take part in the rallies. Freedom fighters and family members of bravery medal recipients and martyrs will be felicitated. Shri Chouhan underlined a need to encourage participation of students by giving certificates.
The Chief Minister was informed that students will recite national anthem ‘Jan Gan Man’ at 11 am on August 23 in colleges and schools in the series of ‘Yad Karo Kurbani’ programmes. Essay writing, drawing, drama competitions and general knowledge quiz will be held. Gram sabha will be organised in Gram Panchayats . Before this, a race will be organised for children and elderly people. Later, plantation will be made. Sports competitions will be organised under the aegis of Sports and Youth Welfare Department. 72 Member delegation sent under ‘Maan Tujhe Pranam’ scheme will meet soldiers at Badmer border. They will celebrate Rakshabandhan festival there. Craft fairs will be held to promote khadi clothes.
