MP’s Growth Story Impresses U.K. Investors
Bhopal. The growth story of Madhya Pradesh deeply impressed the prospective investors of UK. The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on the second day of his visit today addressed a business seminar on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. It was jointly organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries and UK India Business Council.
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has witnessed phenomenal growth in the last one decade. Farmer-friendly policies resulted in tremendous progress in agriculture sector. The state has enough water resource for irrigation. It has become self-reliant in electricity, which is surplus and therefore affordable. Infrastructure facilities have been widened rapidly.
Referring to river linking project, Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has shown how near impossible tasks could be completed in a record time. Today thousands of farmers are getting water for irrigation and drinking water is available to a sizeable rural population. He apprised the investors of the growth story citing examples of how the state has achieved rapid economic development.
Referring to hospitability of the State, Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is an Island of Peace. There is no law and order problem. There is no terrorism or Naxalism. The citizens are peace loving and respect everyone. He said that an effective single window system is functioning to help the investors. He invited them to the Global Investors Summit at Indore.
Minister for Industries Shri Rajendra Shukla also addressed the seminar. The Principal Secretary Shri Mohammad Sulaiman highlighted business and investment opportunities in various sectors. Shri Navtej Sarna, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Deputy Mayor of London, Shri Kevin MacCole of UK India Business Council and investors were present.
The Chief Minister will reach Mumbai late night on September 28 Wednesday and in the morning of September 29, Thursday land in Gwalior. He will return Bhopal in the afternoon the same day.
