Cent Per cent Survey of Hail storm-Affected Crops: CM
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government has taken the decision to construct the Chambal Express-way to connect the lifeline of development of people of Bhind, Morena and Sheopur area of Chambal division. With the construction of this Express-way, industrial development of the ravines area in Chambal region would also become easier. The express-way will connect Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Shri Chouhan said that cent per cent survey of the hail-affected crops will be conducted following which relief amounts will be made available. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing hail storm-affected farmers at Girgaon in Bhind district today.
The Chief Minister said the crops of Morena, Gwalior, Datia and Shivpuri have also been affected. These regions will also be covered in the survey and the affected farmers will be compensated. He said those farmers who have got their crops insured, they will obtain 25 per cent amount after primary estimation and later they be provided the full payment. The government will monitor the entire operation. Those farmers who have not got their crops insured the government will compensate them. Those farmers who have suffered more than 50 per cent loss, government will provide financial assistance of Rs 25 thousand for the marriage of their daughters. Besides, loan recovery of the hail storm affected farmers will be postponed, and the government will compensate for the interest payable on the loan. Farmers will be provided loan for fertilizers and seeds on zero per cent for their forthcoming crops.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the government is with the farmers in this hour of crisis owing to hailstorm and unseasonal rains. The losses of crops are being estimated promptly and farmers will be provided relief amounts very soon. He instructed the district administration to conduct the survey of the crops with full honesty and sensitivity. The list of affected villagers will be made pested at gram panchayat so that the farmers can see the loss they have suffered. In case the farmers have any objection they can get their field surveyed again. He said that 73 villages were affected by hail storm in Bhind district.
Shri Chouhan said that apart from Bhind, Ater, national highways have already been announced in Mihona, Kanawar and Daboh regions. Chambal Bridge is being constructed in Ater area of Chambal region. He said that with the construction of the Chambal Express-way the entire Chambal region will be linked to the mainstream. With the development of transportation in the region, new dimensions will be added in industries, dairy development and agriculture sector in Chambal region.
CM Inspected Affected Crops of Farmers
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inspected the mustard crop in the fields of farmers Shri Dataram, Shri Jawan Singh and Shri Mangal Singh. Consoling the farmers he said that he was with them in this hour of crisis.
Minister of State for Narmada Valley Development (Independent charge) Shri Lal Singh Arya said that the Chief Minister has always been concerned with the farmers’ woes. He said that hail storm affected crops survey being done by visiting each field in Gohad. Once the survey is over, relief amounts will be made available to the farmers.
Rajya Sabha MP Shri Prabhat Jha, local MP Dr. Bhagirath Prasad, MLAs Shri Narendra Singh Kushwaha and Shri Mukesh Singh Chaturvedi, state vice president Shri Arvind Singh Bhadouria, villagers and farmers in a large number were also present on the occassion.
