MP’s roadmap for doubling agriculture income will be model for other states
Bhopal. Roadmap to double farmers’ income will now guide other states for increasing agriculture income. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will give presentation in meeting of NITI Ayog on works made for doubling agriculture income, policies, provisions and schemes.
Noteworthy is that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has asked Chief Minister Shri Chouhan to present efforts for increasing farmers’ income in two folds as model, in view of the unprecedented progress in agriculture sector in the State. He had told Shri Chouhan in NITI Ayog meeting that presentation should be made on progress in agriculture in Madhya Pradesh and future work plans. Agriculture innovations should be shared with other states too. It would guide others in doubling agriculture income.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan discussed presentation to be held in NITI Ayog with officers today at Mantralaya. It was informed that efforts to double agriculture income have started to giving excellent results. They are clear in reports issued by the Government of India. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that State’s achievements in agriculture should be presented on the basis of reports of the government of India. They should be organised in templates. Along with informing about expansion of irrigation and its use, works and reforms for availability of electricity should be presented.
Shri Chouhan said that information should be given on helping farmers in credit related needs of farmers, horticulture at the time of change in crop cycle, floriculture, agro-forestry, crop damage relief, insurance, procurement on minimum support price, deeper sowing, custom hiring centre for engineering, promotion of maximum use of land by farmers and arrangement of farmers’ foreign tours for conveying them new information should be included. Brief introduction of new schemes like Mukhyamantri Khettirth Yojana, Agriculture Cabinet like reforms related with the system should be presented.
Chief Secretary Shri BP Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Shri PC Meena, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Ashok Varnawal, Principal Secretary, Farmer-Welfare and Agriculture Development Shri Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary, Cooperatives Shri Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Mandi Board Shri Rakesh Shrivastava and other officers were present there.
