Ravindra Jadeja and his wife Rivaba Solanki meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is yet to travel to Australia to link up with his other Indian teammates, who are preparing for the upcoming T20I series against Australia. Jadeja is not a part of the T20 squad and will travel to Australia later this month as he has been named in the Test squad for the four-match series which begins after the conclusion of T20Is. On Tuesday, Jadeja met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in New Delhi.
Jadeja was accompanied by his wife Rivaba Solanki as the couple posed for a photograph with PM Modi. A photo of the couple with PM Modi was shared by the Prime Minister’s official handle on Twitter. “Had a wonderful interaction with noted cricket player Ravindrasinh Jadeja and his wife, Rivaba. @imjadeja,” the tweet read.
Jadeja made a stunning comeback in ODIs at the Asia Cup 2018, earlier this year. He was selected in the ODI squad after an impressive show in the Test series against England and made the most of the opportunity to continue his stellar run. The left-hand all-rounder took a four-wicket haul against Bangladesh and made a strong case for himself.
He played both the Test matches against West Indies and later also played four ODIs against the visitors picking up seven wickets to finish behind Kuldeep Yadav as the second-highest wicket-taker in the series helping India claim the 5-match series 3-1. Jadeja was rewarded for his good form as he made the cut into the Test squad for Australia series.
He has not been picked in the T20 squad for the three-match series which begins on Wednesday but will feature in the longest format. He will be looking to continue his fine form on the tour Down Under. Virat Kohli and co will play three T20Is followed by 4-match Test series and three-match ODI series against Australia.
