Market fell after making all-time high: Sensex closed down 131 points at 82,948, Nifty also fell 41 points
Before the important meeting of the US Federal Reserve, today i.e. on 18th September, Sensex made a new all-time high of 83,326 and Nifty made a new all-time high of 25,482.
However, the market later declined and the Sensex closed at 82,948 with a decline of 131 points. At the same time, Nifty also declined by 41 points, it closed at 25,377.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 19 fell and 11 rose. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 33 fell and 17 rose.
IT sector witnessed the maximum decline of 3.05% Talking about NSE’s sectoral index, IT sector witnessed the maximum decline of 3.05%. On the other hand, pharma sector declined by 1.53%, healthcare by 1.31% and oil and gas sector by 1.02%. While Nifty Financial Services witnessed the maximum rise of 1.40%. Banking sector also closed with a gain of 1.08%.
Asian markets boom
- There is mixed trading in Asian markets today. Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.49% and China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.49%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 1.37%.
- On September 17, the Dow Jones of the US market fell 0.038% and closed at 41,606. Whereas the Nasdaq rose 0.20% and closed at 17,628. The S&P 500 rose 0.026%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 482.69 crore on September 17. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 874.15 crore.
Today is the third day of bidding for the IPO of Arcade Developers and Northern Arc. Today is the third day of bidding for the Initial Public Offering i.e. IPO of Arcade Developers Limited and Northern Arc Capital Limited.
Arcade Developers’ IPO was subscribed a total of 17.41 times in two trading days. The issue was subscribed 21.40 times in the retail category, 0.47 times in qualified institutional buyers (QIB) and 29.99 times in the non-institutional investors (NII) category.
At the same time, Northern Arc Capital’s IPO was subscribed a total of 10.61 times in two days. The issue was subscribed 11.32 times in the retail category, 0.20 times in qualified institutional buyers (QIB) and 22.55 times in the NII category. The shares of both the companies will be listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 24.
There was a boom in the stock market yesterday. Earlier yesterday, on September 17, the Sensex closed at 83,079 with a gain of 90 points. Nifty also rose by 34 points, it closed at 25,418. Auto, IT and FMCG stocks saw a rise. Metal and banking stocks fell. Hero MotoCorp was the top gainer of Nifty.
