Sensex at record high of 83,116 and Nifty at 25,433:

Closed at 82,962, up 1,439 points, metal stocks rose the most

Today, on September 12, the Sensex reached a record high of 83,116. Nifty also made an all-time high of 25,433. However, later both these indices came down slightly and the Sensex closed at 82,962, up 1,439 points (1.77%). The Nifty closed at 25,388, up 470 (1.89%) points.

Japan’s Nikkei rose 2.77%, China’s market fell

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei has risen by 2.77% and Korea’s Kospi has risen by 1.55%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has fallen by 0.91% and China’s Shanghai Composite has fallen by 0.11%.
  • On September 11, the US market Dow Jones closed at 40,861, up 0.31%. Nasdaq closed at 5,554, up 2.17%, and S&P500 closed at 5,554, up 1.07%.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,755.00 crore on September 11. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth ₹230.90 crore.

Today is the last day to bid for the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of PN Gadgil Jewelers Limited. This IPO opened on 10 September. In two days, the IPO of PN Gadgil Jewelers has been subscribed a total of 7.11 times.

The IPO was subscribed 7.28 times in the retail category, 0.10 times in qualified institutional buyers (QIB) and 16.09 times in the non-institutional investors (NII) category. The company’s shares will be listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 17.

Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 20 fell and 10 rose. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 34 fell and 16 rose. There was selling in all sectoral stocks except Nifty FMCG.
