Sensex hits 83,184 and Nifty hits 25,445: Closes at 82,988, up 97 points; Energy, metal and auto stocks rise
The stock market made an all-time high today i.e. on 16 September. During trading, the Sensex touched 83,184 and the Nifty touched 25,445. However, after this there was a slight decline and the Sensex closed at 82,988 with a gain of 97 points.
Nifty also rose by 27 points. It closed at 25,383. Energy, auto, metal and banking stocks saw a big rise today. NTPC was the top gainer on Nifty. FMCG, financial and IT stocks declined. Bajaj Finance was the top loser.
Shares of Bajaj Housing Finance rise 135% Shares of Bajaj Housing Finance Limited rose 135.70% today. Shares of Bajaj Housing Finance were listed today at Rs 150, up 114.29%. Even after listing, its shares saw a rise and closed at Rs 164.99. Its issue price was Rs 70.
ICICI Bank, L&T and HDFC Bank pulled the market up
- ICICI Bank, L&T, HDFC Bank, NTPC, Axis Bank and Infosys pulled the market up. Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finserv and SBI pulled the market down.
- On September 13, the US market Dow Jones closed at 41,393 with a gain of 0.72%. Nasdaq closed at 5,626 with a gain of 0.65% and S&P500 closed at 5,626 with a gain of 0.54%.
IPOs of 2 companies opened today: 2 Initial Public Offers (IPOs) have opened today (16 September) for listing in the stock market. These include Arcade Developers Limited and Northern Arc Capital Limited. Investors will be able to bid for both the IPOs till 19 September. The shares of these two companies will be listed in the market on 24 September.
Fabtech Technologies files DRHP to launch IPO Mumbai-based Fabtech Technologies, an engineering solutions provider, has filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with market regulator Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise funds through an IPO. The IPO will be an entirely fresh issue of 1.20 crore equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 per equity share.
There was a decline in the market on Friday. Earlier last week, on 13 September (Friday), the Sensex closed at 82,890 with a decline of 71 points. At the same time, there was a decline of 32 points in the Nifty, it closed at 25,356.
