Cong to Hold One-day Panchayat Meet in Satna

To discuss irregularities in the implementation of NREGA among other things, the Satna District Congress is organizing a one-day Panchayat meet on November 1.

Ajay Singh, chairman of State Congress Campaign Committee, said that invitees for the meeting is Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj CP Joshi.

He said that besides, former chief minister and Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has also been invited to the meet, for it was during his tenure that Panchayati Raj was initiated in the state.

Satna district Congress president Praduyman Singh said that the purpose of the meet is to revive the party in the district where it had fared miserably in the recent elections.

He said that plans for the forthcoming civic elections will also be taken up for discussion at the meeting.

Singh said that following the meeting a rally would also be taken out at the end of which a memorandum would be submitted to the Satna collector on the party’s demands.
