After ‘Dostana 2’ and ‘Freddie’, Kartik Aaryan ousted from Aanand L Rai’s movie? Filmmaker’s team clarifies

After exiting Shah Rukh Khan’s Freddie and being dropped from Karan Johar’s Dostana 2, actor Kartik Aaryan was said to reportedly have lost another big project.

Several media reports suggested that Kartik has been sacked from an Aanand L Rai film that was based on the life of a gangster. Also, it was said that actor Ayushmann Khurrana has replaced Kartik to play the lead role in the film.

However, the filmmaker’s team has denied the buzz and revealed that the production house is still in talks with Kartik.

According to a report in the Indian Express, Rai’s team said that the film with Ayushmann is a completely different one.

The fimmaker’s team called the rumours ‘baseless’ and said that they’ve met Kartik for a different film and are still in talks with the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor. They clarified that they have taken another film altogether to Ayushmann and this is a complete mix up.

Last month, Karan Johar issued a statement confirming that Kartik is not a part of the film and that they will be recasting for Dostana 2. The makers are yet to confirm the new cast of the film.

“Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” the official statement read.

A few days ago, it was reported that Kartik has made a voluntary exit from Shah Rukh Khan’s production film.

Meanwhile, Kartik will next be seen in films like Dhamaka and Bhool Bhulaiya 2.
