Hike in Power Tariff Likely in MP

The government run power corporations in Madhya Pradesh may soon announce a hike in power tariff, the new tariff is likely to be applicable for both the domestic and commercial consumers. But farmers could be left out of the ambit of the increase in electricity costs, say well placed sources.

The hike will pull the plug on domestic budgets as it would come, close on the heels of a substantial hike in petro prices, and in the midst of a sweltering summer that seems to have melted into at least a delayed, if not, a bad monsoon.
