Chinese Doc Hacks Eight Students to Death

Zheng Minsheng (41), a Chinese doctor with a history of mental illness, is reported to have hacked eight children to death with a machete Tuesday and injured five others at a primary school in Fujianprovince of southeast China, said reports.

Minsheng, who was employed by community clinic until June, attacked children as they arrived in the morning, they said.

While three of the victims died on the spot, five others succumbed to wounds at a hospital. The condition of the five other wounded is reported to be stable.

What triggered the violence the doctor was not immediately known.
