I will return to Pak at right time : Parvez Musharraf
New Delhi: Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, who is a “proclaimed offender” in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case, on Saturday said he will go back to his country “at the right time” to break “the status quo.”
“I can go to Pakistan at any time. I will go at the right time,” Musharraf told reporters on the sidelines of a conclave organised by the Hindustan Times.
“The objective is to break the status quo. The timing is very important,” he said.
Last month, the old had announced via a video link from Dubai that he will contest the general elections, likely early next year, from Chitral, a constituency in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.
Musharraf was declared a “proclaimed offender” by a trial court hearing the Bhutto assassination case. A red warrant has also been issued to Interpol for his arrest.
