Israeli Man Having Info on Hamas Militant Killing Disappears
In a startling development, an Israeli sharing the name of an alleged member of the squad that killed a top Hamas militant in Dubai has vanished, reported AFP quoting an Israeli newspaper.
According to Yediot Aharonot, Israel’s mass-selling, the name Michael Bodenheimer could be seen on a sign at an office building in the seaside Israeli city of Tel Aviv till Saturday but the signboard has been taken down since, said report.
The newspaper also published the nameplate to support the claim, report said.
Media has not interviewed the man since his name appeared on one of many European passports, which, according to Dubai police, were utilized last months by the killers of Mahmud al-Mabhuh, a Palestinian Hamas commander, said report.
On Saturday, Germany’s Der Spiegel reported that the German passport bearing Bodenheimer’s name was apparently not forged unlike the other passports, said report.
Report said that the passport was delivered in Cologne on June 18, 2009 to an applicant who presented an Israeli passport issued at the end of 2008 and the marriage certificate of his parents, who were persecuted by the Nazis.
Another Michael Bodenheimer, an ultra-Orthodox Jew living in another suburb of Tel Aviv, was interviewed by Israeli media last week, said report, adding that the man denied having any involvement in the matter.
He also bore no resemblance to the passport photo presented by Dubai police.
