Kidnapped for 18 Years, Jaycee Dugard Resurfaces

Over 18 years after her abduction by a married couple, Jaycee Lee Dugard now a 29 year old young woman walked into a California police station on Wednesday, she was 11 at the time of the kidnapping.

Authorities say the couple accused of abducting her in a grey sedan on June 10, 1991 has been arrested.

“1991 kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard has been located in good health in the greater Bay Area of California,” an El Dorado County Sheriff’s spokesman was quoted as saying in a brief written statement.

According to media reports, Phillip Craig Garrido, 58, and Nancy Garrido, 55, are being held on suspicion of giving committed the abdiction.

While Phillip Garrido, a registered sex offender with a prior conviction for rape, was being held on suspicion of kidnapping, rape, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, sexual penetration and kidnapping, his wife Nancy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and kidnapping, the reports added.

Dugard was walking to a bus stop near her home when the gray sedan pulled up next to her and she was yanked inside by her kidnappers.
