Madhya Pradeshs growth in agriculture and other sectors lauded
Bhopal.President Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated India International Trade Fair 2015 in New Delhi today. Madhya Pradesh is participating as Focus State in this year’s India International Trade Fair. Commerce, Industries and Employment Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia represented the state in the fair. In his address, President Shri Mukherjee lauded progress of Madhya Pradesh in various sectors, specially double digit agriculture growth rate. The President also lauded efforts of the state for Ease of Doing Business.
Smt. Scindia threw light on Madhya Pradesh’s industrial development and investment potential. She said that apart from being Focus State in the trade fair, Madhya Pradesh has also emerged as Focus State in industrial investment. Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that Madhya Pradesh stands 5th in the country in Ease of Doing Business. She said that Madhya Pradesh is on top in the country in land allotment and grant of permission for constructions. Smt. Scindia also inaugurated Madhya Pradesh Pavilion in the fair. Smt. Scindia said that conducive climate exists for industries in the state due to adequate availability of power, water, land and skilled manpower. The state government is extending a number of facilities to investors to set up industries. She said that the state has immense potential in sectors like food processing, automobiles, engineering goods, skill development, medicines, information technology, technical education, renewable energy, textiles and tourism.
Union Minister of State for Commerce Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner Syed Muazzam Ali, Afghanistan’s Ambassador Shri Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Jharkhand’s Village Industry Minister Shri Neelkanth Singh Munda, Union Commerce Secretary Rita Tiyotiya and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of ITPO Shri L.C. Goyal were also on the dais.
Smt. Scindia also inspected various stalls in state’s pavilion. She was accompanied by Commissioner Industries and MD of Madhya Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam Shri V.L. Kanta Rao.
Theme of this year’s fair is ‘Make in India’. In this context, ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make in Madhya Pradesh’ has been made theme of Madhya Pradesh Pavilion.
Madhya Pradesh Pavilion
Pavilion front portion also echoes the same subject. It displays cultural and historic heritages of the state like Sanchi stoop, Khajuraho temples and Gwalior Fort as well as established and future’s possible modern facilities like wind mills, metro rail etc.
The ground floor of the pavilion has attractive automatic mode of ‘Make in Madhya Pradesh’ on the state’s map. It displays progress and growth in various sectors in the state. Similarly, information about Simhastha-2016, figures of state’s glorious development and state’s focus sectors’ information.
On the first floor, live models made by trainees regarding products of various industries in the state and activities of skill development have been shown, which are being conducted in the state under ISDS. State’s bamboo products have been displayed on the second floor. Information about women’s empowerment has also been given.
The third floor has displays on state’s agriculture, food processing and projects based on other agriculture produce. Panels of major textiles industries in the state have been formed. Live demo of weaving of world famous Chanderi saris is also being given. On the fourth floor, state’s handicraft and handloom products are being displayed and sold through Mrignayani stall. On the same floor, an attractive tableau of state’s tourism destinations is being presented.
